Orrstown Bank & PeoplesBank Merger Update
Dear Valued Orrstown Bank Client,
We are thrilled to announce the merger between PeoplesBank and Orrstown Bank to create a premier regional community bank is underway. On July 1, 2024, PeoplesBank will officially merge with Orrstown Bank, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. We want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued trust and loyalty. Your support has been instrumental in making this merger possible.
Over the coming weeks, we will be working diligently to prepare for the conversion of PeoplesBank accounts and services to Orrstown Bank, which will occur Veterans Day weekend (November 9, 10, and 11), and we will open as a new combined bank on Tuesday, November 12.
Here's a brief summary of what you can expect until that time:
- Current Orrstown Bank locations will remain active as we complete the technical integration, expected on or around November 12, and you can continue to complete your transactions at Orrstown Bank locations.
- Starting on July 1 Orrstown Bank clients can make withdrawals at PeoplesBank ATMs free of charge. Full ATM functionality, including deposits, will be available after Technical Conversion, expected on November 12, 2024.
- Routing numbers and account numbers will not change, so you can continue to use your Orrstown Bank checks and debit cards.
- Direct deposit, online/mobile banking, including online Bill Pay and Remote Deposit Anywhere (RDA), will also continue to work.
- Your deposits will continue to be insured by the FDIC up to the maximum amount permitted by federal regulation. When two banks merge, FDIC coverage considers a client’s deposits separately insured – as if the two banks are still operating separately – for at least six months and possibly longer for Certificates of Deposit (CDs). The six-month rule is intended to allow depositors time to review their deposit insurance coverage and make changes if needed. For clients who have concerns regarding amounts over $250,000 from their combined deposit balances, Orrstown Bank offers solutions to address those concerns. The six-month period will begin on July 1, 2024 and will end on December 31, 2024. Please refer to the FDIC’s website at www.fdic.gov for additional information on deposit insurance coverage. Our trusted financial advisors are always available to review your insurance coverage with you at your convenience.
- You will receive a Welcome Guide in the mail in mid-October that will include everything you need to know about changes after November 12.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our Contact Center at 888-677-7869. Our representatives are here to help.
Once again, thank you for trusting Orrstown Bank! We look forward to continuing to serve you and building a stronger banking relationship together.
Sincerely,
Orrstown Bank
